Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) is hard at work preparing and educating the public, cities, hospitals, first responders, schools, faith-based organizations, service organizations, and service providers regarding the potential impact of an influenza pandemic. Should a pandemic happen, DCHHS will quickly identify the pandemic flu strain in people, track its spread in the community and make recommendations to control its spread. DCHHS encourages everyone to take personal responsibility by developing a preparedness plan for their home and workplace.

In Case of Emergency Evacuation, DCHHS recommends that each household have a Go Kit ready. Store your kit in a convenient place known to all family members. The Go Kit should be an easy-to-carry, waterproof and fireproof container that includes items that you would need during an evacuation or emergency.
